nGenius® Collector
Delivers NetFlow and IP SLA-based data to the nGenius Performance Manager
Many IT professionals today are looking for ways to take advantage of the NetFlow and IP SLA data supplied by their routers and switches. These routers and switches when configured to generate NetFlow datagrams to measure router interface utilization and IP SLA tests to analyze network performance and availability between switch and router or between IP SLA-enabled device and end points such as application servers provide powerful network performance information. Many IT professionals are using the cost-effective approach of harnessing the NetFlow and IP SLA data already available in the network to lower network management costs. However, the required manipulation of the alpha-numeric data and manual analysis of the information has proven to be a cumbersome task, and IT professionals are looking for ways to improve on the collection, analysis and reporting of this NetFlow and IP SLA data.
NetScout’s nGenius Collectors work with nGenius analysis solutions and leverage the unique CDM architecture to meet these goals. The system allows for the collection, analysis and display of NetFlow, IP SLA, and MIB II information, along with data received from NetScout data collection devices, to be displayed in unified views and reports. The nGenius Performance Management System presents the NetFlow and IP SLA data, including conversation information in context with information from other sources across the network, automatically minimizing the time to analyze the data received from NetFlow and IP SLA-enabled devices.
