Wireless Discovery
Wireless Discovery identifies wireless access points by analysing each device's response to standard TCP/IP packets. It takes a different approach than airwave-monitoring tools. As a result, Wireless Discovery is more effective at finding wireless access points that reside in the far corners of the network where physical auditing or airwave monitoring is impractical.
Wireless Discovery does not require a sensor in every physical location. It is an active and centralised solution, so a scan can be conducted across the entire network from a small number of sensors. Furthermore, because Brookcourt's technologies are able to find the unknown networks, Wireless Discovery can scan the unknown networks for wireless access points that other solutions will not find.
The discovery module also finds other ‘management interface’ fingerprints throughout the network, besides wireless, providing a ‘context sensitive’ inventory of active assets on the network.
